At the age of 24, a devastating car accident left a lifelong mark on the left side of my face. Multiple fractures and deep lacerations ravaged my profile. At the time, I was in my fourth year of pharmacy studies.
The clock of my life seemed to stop. There was nothing but hospital rooms, clinics, operating theatres, painful dressings, injections, and intensive care. After six months and numerous surgeries, I was finally discharged. I still remember that overwhelming sense of vastness as I lay in the ambulance, watching the world outside—watching life moving right in front of me.
Upon returning home, I stood before a large mirror and looked at my face. I thought of how, only a few months earlier, I was walking the runway as a model in my spare time. I stared at the scars on my skin, which was still swollen beneath my eye. According to the medical profession, no science or method could ever make them disappear.
I went to find a pair of wide glasses, drew my lips with vermilion lipstick, brushed my long hair forward to frame my face, and I smiled. Everything was going to be fine; there are always solutions. Surely, there were solutions. One must move toward the future. I returned to university as soon as I was able. I felt truly well.
Following my return, I specialized in several fields and simultaneously began my research. I had the good fortune to meet eminent professors who were pioneers in various disciplines. I was fascinated by their work on cellular biology, free radical damage, and oxidative stress—concepts I studied 20 years before they became mainstream knowledge.
The expertise I acquired early in my career allowed me to develop formulations to transform my own skin, which eventually led to the creation of an innovative concept for treatment and regeneration. This was how I developed the unique technology of Laboratoires Renophase.
I have dedicated my entire life to research on cellular and skin regeneration, and it is this journey that I share today. I have seen firsthand that cells retain their capacity for regeneration and that any skin concern or scar can be transformed and improved, provided we address the underlying cause.
